The Satanic Mill

"The Satanic Mill" is a German novel by Otfried Preußler. It was first published in 1971 in German under the title Krabat. It was then published in English as "the Satanic Mill " from 1972 to 1991.In 2000 it was republished in English as The Curse of the Darkling Mill.

The book deals primarily with Black Magic and the lure of evil. Other themes include friendship, love, and death. It won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 1972.

This book has always been one of my favourites, from a very early age on. It is extremely tense, very mysterious, and once you start reading it, you cannot put it down again, at least I can't!!

The picture is a photo I took of a windmill in Holland, near the village of Heusden. I have given it my own twist, inspired by the Krabat book. I used textures and a couple of loose branch brushes, All the rest is original as it was in the photo.

It has been a couple of years that I was able to read the book, as when I moved to Ireland, I had to leave behind my 30+ meters of book. I am hoping that at some stage someone will visit me and bring a second-hand edition of this childrens best-seller for me as a present!

Forgive me for my absense here, hence the lack of comments on your work.

I am very busy this week and coming week
